A weekly column in which Jake gives short blurbs about the comics he’s picked up that week. Reviewed in the order read, which varies but generally by increasing anticipation. Disclaimer: he knows very little about art, at least not enough to considerably honor such tremendous undertakings, so…yeh, there’s that.
BOOK OF THE WEEK
Writer: Al Ewing/Artist: Aud Koch/Color Artist: Dan Brown
Letterer: VC’s Joe Sabino/Marvel
A weakened Galactus does battle with his eternal foe, Ego the Living Planet (non-Kurt Russell variety). Ewing unravels more man behind the Devourer of Worlds, making for a rich issue. Koch’s lines are simplistic yet evocative and several sequences succeed solely on the scope of his talent. Series mainstay Dan Brown reins in his colors for most of the issue to dramatic and worthwhile effect when he lets loose. Ultimately, a solid issue.
