Shots From Across the Pond: Jamie Reviews South Park: the Stick of Truth

South Park: the Stick of Truth

Have you ever wanted to be in a episode of South Park? And for it to be an RPG?

Because luckily for you, and me, South Park The Stick Of Truth certainly delivers on that, and manages to offend everyone and everything in its path.
So if anyone saw the Black Friday episode trilogy, they would know that the South Park children really take roleplaying to a new level, and their dialogue really making this game hilarious and enjoyable in the exact same way that I find the show.
The story while kind of short, manages to put as many references in to the game as possible, with a ton more hidden for only the greatest of fans to find, but anyway the story finds you, the new kid, dragged in to the middle of an endless war between the Humans and the Elves while they fight to control the universe with the help of THE STICK OF TRUTH!
The new kid has to use every skill he can in order to survive the combat against Elves, Aliens, Rats and even Nazi Zombies, the combat system involves quite a bit of button mashing in order to use your skill, magic or even to block, to be honest I wasn’t expecting the combat mechanics to be so active, but I personally enjoyed it, I also really enjoyed the free roam aspect of the game being able to explore the town of South Park and Canada is really a lot of fun to do.
Now if you are like me and you don’t enjoy games with a bunch of collectable, boy will you love this game, with collectable achievements for getting friends, collecting outfits and finding all the Chinpokomon, you’ll know them when you see them, besides them there are a few other achievements that would require you to play the game more than once, but with the multiply classes you might want to do that anyway.
The only bad thing for me is the censorship for the UK, yep you guessed it no anal probing for me. 😦
With all that out of the way, I’ll give South Park The Stick Of Truth 4.5 stars out of 5.
